The Red River Cart, a large two-wheeled cart made entirely of wood, played a significant role in the lives of the Turtle Mountain band of Chippewa people. The Chippewa were good hunters, and this innovative mode of transportation revolutionized their ability to hunt and transport the meat and hides of the American Bison.
